We miss you Ranjith!!

Image
5 February'11, a saturday evening. I was at work at my client ESSAR in Mumbai. My phone vibrated with my friends PrakashAV number displayed on it. I thought, he must be calling to invite me to his marriage which is scheduled in March. I lazily answered his call, still looking at the computer screen busy with work. He yelled, "Arey Ranjith chanipoyadata ra!!!"..."What? Which Ranjith?? Ranjith Chowdhary??" i said in sudden shock. "Mana Ranjithey raa", he replied. This sent shivers up my spine. Our talk went on. "This cant be true. He got married just 3 months ago. This is not fair". My eyes filled with tears automatically during the conversation. God! This is not fair on your part. He just started his life. Bought a home in USA, got married with lot of plans in mind about life. Pschh!! Buts its true. My dear friend Ranjith Chowdhary Kamma is no more. That night, i couldn't sleep. He came to my mind again n again. I cant digest t...

Karan!!! Its not u r cup of tea...

Ever awaited "My Name Is Khan" starring the most iconic pairs on celluloid SRK & Kajol(my favourites even), reunited after 7 years, directed by Karan Johar is on screens now. The movie is out of line from generally what is called as karan-type movies. This movie portrays the trauma and public assailment muslims face post 9/11 attack in USA. Though reviews state that it is a cocktail of Newyork & Kurbaan, i dont see any similarities in the story plots except that 3 movies are about the consequences Muslim community face post 9/11. The best part of the film is SRK performance and Kajol is very beautiful. The photography is fantastic in capturing the beauty of the Sanfransisco and especially the scene when SRK impresses Kajol soon after which Kajol asks "Marry me"!!! The movie doesn't have hilarious comedy or excellent foot tapping music or shocking action sequences either to expect repeated audience. Over-all the money, time is worth watching the fir...

First month in USA - Encounters

Yes, its been a month i landed in US. Here's a causerie of my stay till now. The first thing thats important/bad/gud and new to me is the weather. I basically being a south indian had not seen the weather at its worst till now except few floods now & then. A temperature can be called cold or very cold and too bad, i had known is +10Centigrade. I need to mention +ve here coz i have seen the same temperature with in -ve too here in Saint Louis. The worst temp. i had seen till now in St. Louis is -20Centigrade too...bitterly cold dude!!! My first jeopardy with weather came in just a week after i landed in US. The new year eve of 2010, being my first weekend in St. Louis, i took a day out to Chesterfield strip mall. The actual plan was to watch 3D "Avtar" movie then a sumptuous indian lunch at Taj Palace, a bit of shopping and back to hotel. But, we lost the way to Taj palace, as previously i had been there in a car which looked very near. By the time we realized that we ...

2012 - Dec21

Is the world really going to end?Who minds if it really does?Infact, who is really ready to accept it it really does? If someone guarantess, everyone could sell of wat they have and buy a yatch, go on a world tour.Funnily, for every one to sell there must be some to buy those properties and one optimistic guy could be there out. This 2012 funda is as per the Mayan calender. The guy who wrote the Mayan calender hundreds of years ago, donno why, stopped writing calender after Dec21'2012. Does that really mean the end of the world. As per the hindu mythology, Kali yuga is still thousands of years to go. If the world is really going to end, world will not be so peaceful. We could see lot n lot of crime, misery, nature disasters which are the actual symptoms of world ending. And again as per the hindu mythology, a person called "Kali" will rose to save the world & in terms to kill the bad and save the human kind. The movie 2012 is very nicely made. Though the content is bu...

Petty accident

Just yesterday i met with a minor accident. I was driving home from cyber towers at around 7:30PM, with a very little bit of traffic around. Just before the Raheja mindspace, a bus which was actaully driving straight took a sudden right turn at the end of the road. The stupid idotic driver didnt even gave a indicator signal or even a handsignal about the turn. I tried to the max possible extent to take the turn along with the bus to avoid the hit. But my bike handle could not turn more than that and the bus ran over to hit the bike. I was not able to handle the bike standing because the but hit me too on the left shoulder. I just fell down from the bike to the right side and the front wheel of my bike went directly under the bus and stuck there just 2-3 feet away from the rear tyres of the bus!! Though my fall from the bike hasnt caused me much damage, my shoulder(with which i already have a problem) got a serious jerk and its aching. Infact this would have caused lot of damage to the ...

Can music heal mood!!

I am a crazy about music, a FREAK. I listen to songs while going to sleep, while riding home/office, at work, while getting ready for office even. I just keep my machine running music 24*7 at my room. I generally like to listen to songs depending on my mood. I believe dat some songs can really heal ur mood and keep u on track again. Very recently i happened to listen to a song from Akbar's blog and even though i couldn't understand to the fullest i can feel it and enjoy the music altogether. Absolutely music is a re freshener. The very recent songs from telugu movie "Ooye" are some of that sort. The song "Povadhe Prema" n "Waiting for you" are very melodious. Kudos to Devi n Yuvan Shankar Raja duo to produce such a master piece. The song really touches you heart. Just listening once, any body can say that the singer really had a feel of the song. Awesome. Listen to the two songs and u'll okay with me!!! Infact the two songs are related to Love...

IPL - T20

IPL - The Indian Premier League, prestigious tournament founded by Lalit Modi in competiton to ICL(Indian Cricket League - which is infact founded by Kapil Dev in alliance with Zee and ended up in a flop) is turning out to be a very tough one to decide on the favourite. The previous champions of 2008 season looked like to be struggling at the bottom of the point charts at the beginning and now slowly climbed up to the second position. The Deccan chargers which was ended up as a disaster in the previous season looks like its going to reap some profits to Venkat rami reddy, the owner of the chargers. Infact DC was topping the list firstly with 4 consecutive wins and then again it stumbled with 3 consecutive losses and then 1 win again. Coming to the Dare devils, the ultimate toppers always on the chart dont really seems to have a very strong star playersbut the consistency among the team puts them on the favourites list though. The Rajasthan Royals alias Yousuf Pathan the one man army ...
